Product Introduction
7 zone polyurethane foam with different firmness in 7 areas corresponding to human body. It provides targeted support for head, shoulder, back, waist, hip, thigh and calf, fits body curve and relieves pressure. Good air permeability and stable resilience. Can be customized in size & thickness, also can be laminated with egg crate foam. OEM & ODM available, meets ROHS, REACH, CA117 standard.
1. How exactly are the 7 zones divided? What is the firmness difference between zones? Does it really work?
Typical layout (symmetrical from head to foot):
Head and neck zone: medium firmness
Shoulder zone: softer (so the shoulder can sink in when side sleeping)
Lumbar / lower back zone: firmer (to prevent the waist from sagging)
Pelvis / hip zone: softer or medium
Leg and foot zone: medium to firm
Truly effective zoning is achieved through cutting different densities, grooves or layering, not just a pattern printed on the surface. Many buyers question whether it is just a gimmick, especially because body height differs and the zones may not line up after turning over.
2. How do I choose the firmness (H2/H3, etc.)? Which sleeping position and body weight does each suit?
H2 (medium): generally suitable for users under 80 kg; more comfortable for side and back sleepers.
H3 (firmer): suitable for users over 80 kg or stomach sleepers; provides stronger lumbar support.
There is no unified national standard for firmness grades, and the feel varies greatly between brands, so the choice must combine body weight and sleeping position.
3. What density is appropriate? Will it sag quickly? How long will it last?
Density (commonly expressed as RG or kg/m3) is the key indicator of durability. Low density (below 30 kg/m3) deforms and sags permanently quite easily; high density (35-45+ kg/m3) is more durable, and premium grades can last 8-10 years. Buyers often ask how to tell genuine high density from an inflated claim, and whether the waist area will sag after 1-2 years of use.
4. Does it help relieve back pain? Which is more suitable: side, stomach or back sleeping?
A well-designed 7-zone foam can indeed relieve non-specific lower back discomfort through pressure relief and spinal alignment, but it is not a medical device. Stomach sleepers need an overall firmer product with strong lumbar support; side sleepers care more about the soft shoulder zone.
5. How long should I wait before using a roll-packed or compressed mattress, and should it be flipped regularly?
It usually takes 24-72 hours to fully recover. We recommend rotating it head to foot every 2-6 months (some double-sided models can be flipped) to extend its service life.
